T2 Written Language
We
are learning to …
Write a recount about a time we did
something special with friends.
Criteria:
I know I have done this when I . . .
- write my ideas in order
- have capitals at the beginnings of
sentences and for proper names
- have full stops at the end of sentences
- record some beginning, middle and end
sounds in unknown words
- use some describing words
- write how I felt about it and why
- proofread my work and make some
corrections to words or punctuation.
Next steps: Remember to think one sentence through and put a full stop at the end of it.
It is hard to put them in at the end of the writing.
Stretch those estimates to hear the middle and end sounds.
T2 Reading
In Term 2 we began with group reading then Mrs Small thought we could do lots of reading around the theme of Reptiles. We read lots of stories and used key words to pick out the important facts of what we read.
We then began an independent study of a particular reptile and had to find the following information.
1. The characteristics of the reptile.
2. The habitat.
3. How they looked after their young.
4. The life cycle of the reptile.
5. What it eats
6. Their predators
7. Other interesting facts
We then presented the information in a booklet form.
T2 Physical Education
Learning intention: We are learning to send and receive objects consistently
T1 Football Coaching
We were very lucky to get some football coaching from Sport Canterbury.
The girls learnt soccer from a female coach and the boys from a male coach.
We learnt to control the ball by playing games like Sponge Bob Square Pants, Zombie tag and Rob the nest.
Then we played a game of four a-side without a goalkeeper.
T 1 Writing
We are learning to...
- write a personal recount about something we have done or experienced
- have an opening statement that tells who what and when
- write the events in the order they happened
- have a conclusion or personal response
Constable Ross
Constable Ross came. He taught about our bodies. We had to put our hands up. he played a game. He tried to trick Sabrina and Aidan but he could trick the both of them. We watched some videos about secrets, good and bad and we would put our thumb up if we decided it to be good or bad secrets. Constable Ross put on a shirt and a cap and Sabrina and Christopher and Aidan tried to be tricked. Harrison helped Aidan because he didn't know what to say. I felt quite safe because we were talking about safety.
Teacher Comment:
A good attempt to write a recount
Next steps:
Re-read as you write as there was a part that was hard to understand as we conferenced because you had missed words out.
Try to use some simple joining words so your story has some longer sentences.
2015 Learning plan

Are Learning To…
